Stray Kids‘s Hyunjin to stop advertising school uniforms.
According to media reports, Hyunjin’s Ivy Club advertisement was deleted from the official website and social networking services.
The move seems to be a conscious measure of the recent controversy over school violence surrounding the singer.
Previously, an article titled “Stray Kids Hwang Hyunjin Revealed School Violence” was posted on an online community.
A, who said he was a middle school classmate with Hyunjin, revealed he was assaulted and added, “When Hwang Hyunjin debuted as an idol, my memories come back to my mind every time I see him on TV.”
In response, Hyunjin said, “Looking back at what I did when I was lacking more than now, I am ashamed and have no excuse. It’s embarrassing but I want to say thank you to those who have been hurt by me, even if it’s too late, for allowing me to meet in person to apologize and deliver words of forgiveness.”
The agency JYP Entertainment also said that Hyunjin will be on a temporary hiatus to reflect on his past actions.
