BLACKPINK and BTS were listed on the “Best Album of the Year” by Billboard.
On December 7 local time, the American magazine ‘Billboard’ published the ’50 Best Albums of 2020: Staff Picks.’
BLACKPINK’s first album ‘THE ALBUM’ ranked 25th in the list, the highest among K-pop albums. The girls have gained an unrivaled position in the global music market by releasing “Sour Candy,” a collaboration song with pop star Lady Gaga, “How You Like That” in June, “Ice Cream” in August, and “THE ALBUM” in October.
Billboard said, “BLACKPINK has doubled its appeal due to collaboration with Selena Gomez and Cardi B. They continue to provide new ‘attractive’ points.”
BTS’s fourth full-length album “Map of the Soul: 7,” ranked 33th in the list.
The group made history by reaching the top of the ‘Billboard Hot 100’ with their first all-English single ‘Dynamite’ released in August.
Billboard said that BTS’s ‘Map of the Soul: 7’ marked the beginning of BTS’s most historic year, reaching the top of ‘Billboard 200’ without much help from American radios.
